Delete your FrankieGPT account

1Delete it yourself, in the app#

1. Open FrankieGPT and sign in.
2. Press Menu at the top right.
3. Choose Settings.
4. Open the Account section.
5. Press Delete account.
6. Type DELETE in capital letters, enter your password, and confirm.

That is the whole of it. The account and its contents are removed straight away and you are signed out. There is no waiting period and no way for us to undo it afterwards, so please be sure.

2If you cannot sign in#

If you have lost your password, try the reset link on the sign in screen first, because doing it yourself is faster than waiting for us.

If you still cannot get in, write to us through our contact form and say that you want your account deleted. Tell us the email address on the account. We will check that the request really comes from you before we do anything, then delete it and write back to confirm. We answer within 5 business days.

3What is deleted#

Closing the account removes all of the following, permanently:

• Your account itself, and your name, email address, telephone number and postal town.
• Every conversation you have had with Frankie, and everything he remembered about you.
• Your calendar entries and your reminders.
• The people saved in your contact list.
• Your notes, lists and tables.
• Every file in Frankie Drive, including the stored copies themselves, and any links you had shared.
• Your mail, including forwarded messages and their attachments.
• Everything you have looked up in Frankie Search, and the links you kept.
• Your friendships in Frankie Social, and the messages other people sent you.
• Your voice print, if you had turned voice lock on, and any voicemail recordings, which are deleted from our telephone provider as well as from us.

If anybody was on your plan, they keep their own separate account and their own private Frankie. Their conversations were never visible to you and are not affected.

4What is kept, and why#

Two things do not disappear, and we would rather say so plainly than let you find out later.

Messages you sent to a friend in Frankie Social stay on that friend's screen. Your name comes off them and your account is gone, but the words remain in their copy of the conversation. This is deliberate. A message you sent somebody is their copy of a conversation they took part in, in the same way a letter you posted them is theirs. Deleting your account should not reach into another person's history and rewrite it.

Records we are required by law to keep. Ordinary business and tax records are retained for as long as the law requires and are not used for anything else.

Nothing else is kept. We do not keep a shadow copy, we do not keep your conversations for training, and we have never sold any of it.

5How long it takes#

When you delete the account yourself in the app, it happens immediately.

When you ask us to do it because you cannot sign in, we do it as soon as we have confirmed the request is genuinely from you, and within 5 business days.

Backups are overwritten on their normal cycle, which completes within 30 days. Nobody works from a backup to bring an account back.

6Removing some things, without closing the account#

You do not have to close the whole account to get rid of something. Everything below is done by you, in the app, and takes effect at once.

• Anything Frankie remembers about you. Menu, then Memory. Every conversation and every remembered fact is listed there, newest first, and each one can be taken off. When you remove it, he forgets it.
• A file. Menu, then Frankie Drive, then delete the file. The stored copy goes with it, and any link you had shared for it stops working.
• Everything you have looked up. Menu, then Frankie Search, then the button at the bottom that clears the history.
• A person in your contact list, a note, a calendar entry or a reminder. Each of those screens has a Remove button on the item itself.
• A friendship in Frankie Social. Ending it stops any further messages in both directions.

If you would rather we did it, or you cannot get to the app, ask through our contact form and say what you want removed. Same check that the request is really from you, same 5 business days.
